I am not sure what fan some of the other folks here received but let me state my opinion.
3 speeds, high speed is perfect, not too noisy, adequate air flow, definitely not too strong, I would have even liked it a bit more powerful on high.
Remote control is sweet, allows power on and off, and to change the speed and set the timer.
Yes, the fan does emit a beep when using the remote for any function, no it is not that loud or annoying. How many times are you really going to change settings in an hour or 2?
Overall, for the money, this fits the bill nicely. I will most likely purchase a second one.

Love the remote. I use the fan at night it is wonderful that I don't have to get up to change the speed, just reach over and get the remote, its done. The beep isn't that bad don't think it would wake anybody up.

This is a great fan. My wife uses it mainly for white noise while she sleeps, so it's out in our bedroom. It looks great and works great. The price on Amazon is the best I found.

I bought this fan because they were out of the version w/o the remote control. I already have one of the others and I liked it so I wanted another. I never thought I'd find good use for the remote control but was I ever wrong. Now I wish they both had it. I get hot easily and I have this fan next to my bed. The problem is, sometimes in Portland the night time temperature can fall quickly in the winter. In the middle of the night I can just reach over to my bedstand and grab the remote and the fan is off. It's an excellent fan. It's just perfect for my needs.
